The Ground Floor

 The Ground Floor

The layout, not quite to scale

Hall

Looking in from the front door

There are many curtains in the cottage, mostly hanging from poles like this or bamboo canes!

Nice coat rack!

A novel way to relocate the light to where you want it!

Back Passage

Looking from the base of the stairs back to the Hall

The stairs and the door to the kitchen

At night, note the spider repellent plugged in just inside the kitchen!

The stairs, with a glimpse of the bedroom to the left

By the back door, this is the power supply for the shower water extraction pump

Lounge

The alcoves are either side of a chimney breast that belongs to next door

Is there a secret door to somewhere in this alcove?

Curtain poles on cup hooks

Fireplace which might be put back into use

Unusual tiles for a fireplace?

Kitchen and Dining Room

'Door' to the kitchen from the hall. Most doors are just openings with curtains

Kitchen/diner is a good size

A curtain of 2 halves

Strange shelf arrangement above the boiler

The 'all-seeing eye'? In the corner of the dining room!

Woven lattice to hide the washing machine?

Corner cut away to access the socket. The gadget is the monitor for the oil tank level

No idea why these elaborate wooden things are around the boiler pipes!

Lovely lampshade!

And another!

Bathroom

The wet room was full of apparatus

This took us a while to work out!

Shelves and towel rail (more bamboo)

The Fablon covered cardboard 'door' under the washbasin

Some lovely shelves!

Especially for cat lovers!

This is a 'gulper' pump that pumps the shower water to the drain

Bedroom

I only took these 2 of the bedroom, not much to share

The under-stairs cupboard, access via a curtain (of course)

I wonder what the small shelves were originally designed for?
